My Dearest,
It is hard to truly assign comprehendible words to the incomprehensible, for by definition, such a thing is truly impossible. Yet in this, my final letter to you, my daughter, I strive to shed as much light upon your query as possible. I need make no pretence at the security risk I invoke by putting quill to parchment about our sensitive records, yet I would take all and any risk for you. This matter of the past troubles you, I see, and I wish no lack of sleep on your part over a matter I could well assist with. Yet I fear I must regard that the Kirin Tor’s records are limited at best in regards to the creatures of Kal’Jor. Indeed, it is only in regards to a mortal being of this world that I can forge any real sense.

I write of a Sin’dorei, being Thalassian for the words ‘Blood Elf’. Former allies of the Alliance as High Elves, these remarkable humanoids are potently magical by nature. This individual, by the records of the Kirin Tor, of which he was a low-ranking member, bore a deadly sickness within his very soul. All accounts of his appearance bear the same words – sickly, pale, ghastly, and weak. Magic itself had forsaken the individual who, being a Magister, was slowly eaten alive by its influence. For what I can devise, the weakness derived from an influence that had corrupted the Sin’dorei’s life since before birth. I write this once, though little sense it will make – the creatures of Kal’Jor do not see, or experience Time as we do. Despite not meeting the Sin’dorei until full maturity, the creature’s corrupting influence stretched back through time right to birth itself. These creatures do not see things, living things, as a single moment in Time (the Present) but they see through the Past and some small measure of the definite Future.

I understand that much of this is beyond understanding – it requires a mind not bound by our assumed Laws and Regulations in Science, Magic and Faith, for the single truth is that no Law is definite in Empirical speculation, all are false and will be replaced by a ‘more correct’ rule at some later point in time. With this in mind, consider the derivative effect of this Sin’dorei’s lineage, if it were to continue – a woman that bears his child would inherit the sickness of the child, who takes such corruption from the father. In this regard, when the day came that this Sin’dorei’s child was to be born, it would not pass. Magic itself had forsaken the mother and child, who desperately sought to sate its thirst for magic. Although it is widely regarded that the Sin’dorei addiction to magic was ‘cured’ by the Light now present in the Sunwell, the differing origin of this sickness resulted in no comfort for this trio. Desperate to save his lineage, the Sin’dorei rapidly built a powerful Empire in the Outlands – seizing control of the former holdings of Prince Kael’thalas Sunstrider. This business enterprise bartered in power itself – in various forms, the ‘Holy Grail’ of such being a cure for his long-overdue wife and her child.

It is at this point that I feel you may be contemplating where exactly; I am going with this biography of sorts. Yet I implore you; remain with me – all this must be known before you can understand the end of my account. Before the child was conceived, the young – sickly Sin’dorei sought a Witch Doctor’s aid. Overcome by some outwards influence, which now I attribute to a creature of Kal’Jor, the Witch Doctor designed to separate a fraction of the uncorrupted soul of the Sin’dorei into the body of his familiar – a small brown Tickbird, barely larger than a hatchling, and likewise in the opposite direction to balance out the spiritual remnants. At this time, neither the Sin’dorei nor the Witch Doctor had any idea of the bird’s true lineage or purpose, both thinking it little more than a familiar. When this was done, the Sin’dorei felt secure that a small part of his very soul was safe from corruption – yet in the bird’s absence, the corruption would be more potent than before. This continued too many years – right up to the moment at which the child was finally born.

The Sha’tar, who were in contact with the Sin’dorei frequently – thanks to his vast Empire in Outland, and in their infinite wisdom, designed that a piece of the former world of Kal’Jor should find it’s way to the Sin’dorei, who took residence in the Stormspire of Netherstorm. You see, the familiar who had followed the Sin’dorei so patiently for many years was, in reality, all that remained of a creature from Kal’Jor. One of the few, it had come to our world because it knew its purpose was here. As I said previously – these creatures do not see Time as we do. Yet being on this world so long, it had forgotten much of it’s former self. Only a piece of the world of Kal’Jor, powerfully attuned to Life and Nature itself would rekindle the flames of this creature. Thus, when the Sha’tar sent a piece of Kal’Jor to the Stormspire, the tiny piece of the familiar within the Sin’dorei was awoken. Instantly, the power of the Light within the creatures of Kal’Jor shone brightly from the Sin’dorei, and through his lineage, it purged his wife and his child of their sickness. Thus was the child, a son, born – and named Lorean, after the Sin’dorei’s father. Later, I discovered that much time had passed between the curing and the child's birth.

With the essence of Kal’Jor within his soul, the Sin’dorei knew he must return to his familiar – and thus they came together on an island north of Duskwallow Marsh, where there still resides a strong presence of purity and Sanctuary. Murlocks gathered on the isle for they felt its protective embrace during the recent upheaval. Finally together again, and without so much as a flash or a spark – the pieces of each soul were returned. The Sin’dorei was complete again, as was the familiar – yet some small part of the other would remain. For the Sin’dorei, his sickness was finally purged – the corrupting influence of a creature of Kal’Jor purged by the restorative influence of another creature of Kal’Jor. For the familiar – he had regained his mind, and thus his purpose. I can conclude the tale of the Sin’dorei, for he departed from the Kirin Tor, forsaking magic utterly in favour of the Holy Light, and now serves as a Crusader, seeking to spread the message of the Light.

Thus, I trust, you can read the message of my script. I shall now delve into every piece of information I could divulge from our records, and I trust with the former story in mind, you will be able to grasp the nature of these creatures from Kal’Jor. The only thing which can affect, harm or change a creature of Kal’Jor is another creature or object from Kal’Jor. They are of a different breed to this world – their presence sends the Elements, the Spirits, and Magic into disarray. Physical weapons and blows simply pass through them – they are different to us, and we to them. I fear our records show nothing more.

Lastly, I believe I have devised the hierarchy of this world. In the centre of all things was Kal’Jor itself – a spirit, an object, a being. It is all, and it is none of these. Comprising Kal’Jor were five powerful beings, also objects and spirits in their own way. These were guides, gods if you will, spreading the world and Light with every step they made. Harbingers, they are called, and held ultimate power over the Heart of the world itself. It is a Harbinger which I believe corrupted the Sin’dorei in my tale. Serving each Harbinger were four – Heralds by name, High Priests and Guardians. These would guide and protect their people, known as Lights. I believe the familiar in my tale was a Herald, and must therefore, be acting under instruction of its Harbinger.

There is little in my account that makes even an ounce of sense – yet I pray you can discern the truth in my words, as fallible as they may be. In all, I trust you find some rest soon – these dreams of yours are a trouble to me as they are to your mother. I hope soon, the dreams of Kal’Jor and its fallen Prince depart your mind, or reveal their intent.

With all my Love,
You’re Loving Father
