The Gnome and the Knights

(( This is the first story i've written so some constructive response will be appreciated, also thanks to the Knights that participated, I really had a great time and it was the first time I really felt like I wanted to write about something, hope you enjoy. ))

My mind was filled with the thoughts of the meeting I had in Darnassus with Chagidien earlier and Gibbzy showing up just made it the more interesting.
I felt it was necessary to inform Shay about what I had learnt and so I steer my chopper towards the Slaughtered Lamb.

The Slaughtered Lamb was empty when I entered with the exception of Jarel the bartender who stood at his usual place behind the bar.

”Morning Jarel, is Shay here?”

”Hmph, no I think he said he was going to Goldshire, but that was a couple of hours ago...”

”Alright, later”

And with that I left the Slaughtered Lamb and drove of towards Goldshire.
On the road to Goldshire I saw a familiar figure, Robinas was looking down the road towards Goldshire as I drove up next to her.

”Robi, have you seen Shay?”
She turned around and I could see the worry in her face.

”They attacked him!” I got in response.

”What! Who did?”I asked as a chill ran down my spine.

”The knights did, he managed to get away but they took Sardred and tried to arrest me too”

I breath out in relief when I hear Shay managed to get away.
If Shay had been captured it'd be a huge loss of morale among our members and Sardred is tough I know he can hang in there for awhile.

”Alright, well I'll see what I can do, Later.”

I turned my chopper and headed back to stormwind with my mind deep deep thought.
Damnit, why now? When were so close to finding the Grimoire Shay just had to lose his cool and assault a Knight and now they're after us... I turn my back to him for a few hours and this happens!... Alright calm down, think clearly. First I need to get Sardred out, the easiest way to do that would be to capture one of theirs and propose an exchange, finding one of theirs alone shouldn't be to hard.

As I turn around the corner leaving Trade District and going into the canals between Trade District and Old town I almost crash into a human woman in Knights colours.
Sometimes I can't believe my own luck...

I try to start a casual conversation with the redheaded woman while trying to think of a way to bring her to a less populated place where I can deal with her. Two more people in Knights colours arrive a armored woman who I don't recognize and Ivery the man that Shay assaulted.
I realize I won't be able to get one of them alone and just as i'm about to say goodbye and leave I hear Ivery's voice

”Arrest him”.
Oh no, I've been so careful there is noway he knows i'm a Rose...

I look at Ivery.

”What! Why?”
I have to put up a damn good act to get out of this one...

”For assaulting a ranking officer and helping a wanted criminal”

”What, who did I assault?”
No, no, no, no he can't know!

”Me” was the answer I got.

”Hand over your weapon and put your hands on your back” I hear the armored woman say.

”But.. But I haven't done anything wrong!” I try my best to lie.

”You'll have to come with us”

”Fine, but I'm not spending the day in a cell so it better go quick”
If I cooperate they might get less suspicious.

I unstrap the dagger on my waist and put my hands behind my back.
It's impossible for him to know, I always wear the mask when i'm with the Rose and i'm called by the codename 'W', But Sadi knows that I'm 'W' what if she had told him, if that's how it is I should've ran instead.
How am I going to get out of this one...

”Can't you walk faster” I hear the armored woman say as she urges me to walk faster on our way to the SI:7 building.

As we arrive in the SI:7 building I'm being lead upstairs to a table and as I sit down on a chair with Ivery standing infront of me and the armored woman standing behind me they begin to interrogate me.

”Now tell me where is Shay!” Ivery asked immediatly after I've sat down.

”How would I know?” I wasn't lying, I really have no idea where he is.

”Stop lying!” The armored woman yells in my ear as she slams her fist in the table.

”I'm not lying, I don't know anything about the rose!”

”Stop the act Warzor we know you're a Rose, I know your a friend with Shay since awhile back.” Ivery replied.

”No i'm not a Rose, I am a friend with Shay but that's it I stay out of the Rose business I promise!”

As the interrogation continues I realize they don't seem entirely sure I am 'W', which would mean that for some reason Sadi haven't told them and I better get out of this situation before she can tell them, and that same second I hear the readheaded woman who's been staying silent up until now say.

”Sadi, why are you standing over there?”
a silence breaks out as turn around and with fear in my eyes see Sadi standing at the stairs.
Sometimes I can't believe my bad luck...

”Sadi, maybe you can tell us if this Gnome here is a Rose.”
No, the worst thing that could possibly have happened to me right now just happened, Sadi knows and if she tells them it's over for me.
I just sit there and look at Sadi for a what feels like an eternity, panic grasped my mind and for the first time in a very long time I don't know what to do, my heart beating so fast it feel like it's going to jump out of my chest any second and as Sadi opens her mouth to speak I can almost taste the flavour of defeat in my mouth.
It's over, I've lost...

”No, the only Gnome I know of in the Rose wears a mask and is called W”
What?
Panic is replaced by confusion, thoughts are swirling in my head without me being able to fully grasp a single one.
What, did she just lie for me? Why would she lie for me? What is she thinking?
Not a single thing this evening had gone as I've planned...
I quickly recover from my confusion, I need to try take advantage of this.

”See, I'm telling you I'm innocent!”

”I don't believe it” The armored woman yells as she once again slams her fist into the table.

”The Gnome in the Rose is called W, which is the first letter in your name. How do you explain that?!” She yells at me and I can feel the saliva landing on my face.

”I.. I don't know, it must be a coincidence.” I reply

” Ivery, can I speak with you?” I hear Sadi say.

”Sure Sadi, Pakks watch him for a few minutes.” Ivery ordered the armored woman before he goes downstairs with Sadi.

I look up at Pakks to see a grin on her face as she is slowly walking towards me while unstrapping her shield from her back. I get up from the chair and start to walk backwards away from her.
She won't do anything, I'm only a suspect there is noway she will do anything to me, but one look at her grinning face erased all traces of doubt in my mind and knowing I couldn't fight back in anyway fear once again gripped my mind.

”You know this shield weigh 15 kilos” I hear her say.

I unconsciously let a scream out as I turn around and run, run up the spiral stairs that lead to a tower room, I quickly scan the room but there is no other way out... I've cornered myself. There are two barrels a wardrobe and a big crate standing in the room. I quickly run over to the crate open the lid and jump into closing the lid again. I knew I wasn't going to be able to stay hidden in here for any long, but hopefully I could buy time for Ivery to get her and keep this mad woman under control.
As I sit quietly inside the crate I can hear the sound of her metal boots slowly walking up the stairs until she reaches the room, I can hear her walking around the room as she searches through it until she stops just outside the crate I'm sitting in.

”Are you in there?” I can hear her say as she knocks on the crate.
Come on Ivery where are you?!
The lid on crate opens and as I look up I can see her grinning before she closes the lid again.

”You know... With your smart brain... I'm sure you can figure out what would happen if I throw this crate down three floors...”
There is noway she would do that I try to reassure myself.

”Pakk, why don't you go out for a breather for a few minutes.” I hear Ivery's voice.
Finally!

”As you wish” Pakks responds and I can hear her walking down the stairs.
The lid on the crate slides off and I can see Ivery standing over the crate as i climb out of the crate.

”Come on Ivery, I thought we were buddies. I'm not a Rose I swear, let me go.” I try to plead to Ivery

”We are Warz but this is business,how about this if stay in this building for 24 hours then you'tr free to go. However if you try to run I'll send Pakksenarion after you.”

”Ok, 24 hours... No problem.”

The day passes with not much to do, and there's no bed so I can't sleep either and when I asked for some food all they gave me was some tasteless bread, Doc Mixilpixil in the basement manages to keep me entertained for sometime by showing of his inventions but after sometime even he bored me.

It was roughly two hours left of the 24 hours I had to stay in here when the redheaded woman arrives and shortly after a paladin in colours I don't recognize and Gibbzy a mage Chagidien seems to think have some sort of potential, I however can't see it.
I start a casual conversation with the redhead and I find out she's Leov, the one Chagidien told me was currently in possesion of Ditis' libram but that did not matter right now. After asking for maybe the fifth time if I can leave she finaly allows me to leave.

I entered the inn in Darkshire, I'm hungry and haven't slept for two day.
Sardred is still being held captive and I also need to find Shay, but I'll deal with that when I wake up right now I'll just eat and sleep.
I walk over to the bar and order some food and as I turn around to look for a table to sit at I see Sadi entering the inn.

”Sadi!” I almost shout.

”Warz, I was looking for you.”

”Thank you Sadi, for yesteday. If you had told them I was W it would be over for me.”

”Don't mention it...”

”I just want you to know I really appreciate that you lied for me like that.”

”No really... -DON'T- mention it... ever.”

”Alright I won't, I've also wanted to talk to you for awhile now, but it's a bit late now. Could you meet me here tomorrow?”

”Arlight then, I'll see you tomorrow. Stay safe”

As she leaves the inn a plan starts to take shape in my mind, a plan to get Sardred back in which Sadi will be needed, But the plan will need some preparations.. Guess I won't be getting any sleep after all...
