Crossroads of Time
A World of Warcraft alternate timeline

Prologue
Who are you? What do you want? Who do you serve? Who do you trust? These are questions that almost no one can ever truly answer, as they require more insight into oneself than most mortals can ever hope to achieve. Should you manage to answer those questions, however, you will be a true force to be reckoned with. Someone who is nigh unstoppable, as such insight will without fail give a purpose and drive to that person that is unchallenged in mere adventurers and fighters.
Can you honestly say you have both had your blood on fire while knowing your own limitations and strength to perfection? Can you say without doubt that you know exactly what you can and can not do? Can you say you undertake a task capable of telling with pinpoint precision whether you will succeed or whether you'll need another method?
Learning your limitations is as important as learning what your abilities are. Knowing how far you are willing to go in pursuit of a goal, as well. Are you willing to sacrifice someone else? Are you willing to sacrifice yourself? How many deaths are acceptable for your cause and goal? Do you know these things... or will you be stricken with doubt when the moment comes that you must make that decision?
I am telling you this things so you can write them down because I know the answer to some of those questions. One in particular. Yes... I am willing to sacrifice myself. But that also means I need to leave something behind if I do. A testament to the courage and strength of some I have known in my life. A testimony of the horrors committed by others. Tales of power. Of love. Of desire, wrath, jealousy, hate and unmatched honor and faith. Many of those I will speak of does not know the answers to these questions. Others do. All I can say... is that none of them would have the same answers if questioned.
So listen, child. Attend as I speak. Take with you every word and do what you do best. Write about them. I must confess I am amused by the notion of my words turning into a chronicle. A scroll for a library somewhere. Where I was once immortal in body, perhaps I shall remain immortal in memory, hmm? Ah, allow me a few moments of arrogance and hubris, girl. None are above it and as long as it's temporary it's acceptable. You should try it.
But enough of that. Come a little closer and shut out the sounds of the night and of preparations to war. Look into the fire between us and listen to my words. You are about to become the bearer of my legacy, young Sin'dorei.
(( That's right, I have a new writing project. I've lately felt I've been in a rut and I've been beating my head on the wall many a time to try and shake the muse out of whatever drug-induced stupor she's in, to no avail. To remedy that, I've decided to write an alternative story about World of Warcraft. How it could have been, instead of how it is now. How many times have you wandered the world and thought 'I wonder how this would have looked if...'? Well, maybe none, but I have done that a few times. I've pondered how the political landscape would look if someone died when they shouldn't have, or lived when they should have died. How the world would have looked, and how some of the grand events in WoW would have turned out should allegiances have shifted or even started differently than they do now.
Thus was born, the Crossroads of Time, an alternative World of Warcraft timeline following characters you all know, and some invented just for this very purpose. It will require some knowledge of how things have happened up until the end of Warcraft 3, and at least a basic understanding of Vanilla through Wrath. But at some point between the end of WC3 and today, some event ended differently. A decision was made that wasn't made in the official game. The story takes a different turn when facing a Crossroad in Time.
If I actually finish this project, which is far from certain as my attention is easily pulled towards somethi... oooh, that's a shiney link...
...
You see what I mean. If I finish it, it will be a series of Chronicles, each divided into Scrolls. I am currently in the process of writing the Chronicles of a Druid, the first Scroll. It'll contain the events from the end of WC3 up until our current day or so from the perspective of a Kal'dorei Druid and it will contain both some of my characters and some of your characters. Once I've included a character in the story I will first try to write it as I see the character, then you will be contacted privately for approval of it before it becomes public. Some characters and guilds will not be from The Venture Co, yet be played characters either of mine or from others that you don't know about. Some will be from people who no longer plays the game, but I will do my best to contact the players for approval.
So, by the end of the next week I should have the Chronicles of a Druid: The First Scroll posted here. As I finish more scrolls, I will make new threads for them, but always link them here chronologically. Well... if my attention is kept on this project, that is.
So stay tuned. The Crossroads of Time's first scroll of the first chronicle should soon(tm) be available for the reader's pleasure. ))
