She waded from the lake, its cold dark waters against her naked skin, her face as cold as the world around her. The Sorrow guard stood on guard around the lake with their backs to her, they stood almost as if statues in this forsaken land with only the slight movement giving their true identity away.
As Antel reached her belongings by the shore, her eyes moved across them and then locked on the one item that seemed out of place yet disturbingly quite the opposite. A folded letter lay next to her armour, the letter had been opened and folded so many times that it had started to tear, the final words of the one she loved, the words upon the letter still hurt now as they first did when she came across the letter in their home.
“Arli” the words struggled to leave her lips, she said them for no other reason than to hurt herself for her failings. She tried to ignore the letter as she dried and dressed herself yet she would always glimpse down at it.

She had left Silvermoon city and Eversong behind her now, the city had seemed to have lost its magic the moment Arli had left her, the moment her world had fallen down around her. Antel had decided to move the Sorrow guard south into the plague lands, why pretend to be something your not she had told herself.
“I am Death” the cold voice at the back of her head told her
“I am Vengeance” the voice repeated
She had worn her battle helm as the Sorrow guard crossed Eversong and the Ghostlands, The sole purpose of wearing the battle helm was that she could hide her tears from those around her, tears that wouldn’t stop no matter how much she tried to hold them back.

“Ma’am” the voice was familiar to Antel as she turned to face the Deathshroud
“Ma’am are you ready to move one?” Antel had detected a slight softness to the Deathshrouds voice, she had tried to hide the emotion from her guards since the moment she had called them to assemble in Silvermoon to aid her in moving her possessions to her new home.
“Ofcourse Deathshroud, prepare my steed” She replied and watch her loyal guard walk off to the other horses.

The ring on her finger hadn’t moved the past few days but the diamond in it seemed so much dimmer than before, perhaps it was the light here, she had told herself, but she knew it had always been like that and it was in fact something within her that gave the diamond an almost magical quality.
She had ruined everything that she had tried so hard to protect, by failing to change for Arli, for her love, If only she had put him first at all times instead of what she had seen as a duty.
“Sorry” the words shaped on her lips yet her voice failed to follow them.
Yet duty was the only thing that remained for her now, Love had emotions had hurt her more than any pain the Scourge or the Alliance were able to unleash upon her. How could that type of pain come from one who said he had loved you, someone who had sworn to protect you, someone who’s eyes and smile would light up your world in a way nothing else could.

As she and the Sorrow guard rode further into the plague lands she felt herself returning back to the confused soul that had met Arli, who had slowly helped her in becoming something alittle more than just an instrument of death and vengeance. Her mind had been filled with thoughts and memory’s that were not her own, yet now in the moments of her greatest need, one memory came to mind.

She had been awoken by a nightmare, by a memory which was not her own, she had also awoken Arli who lay next to her.
“Another nightmare?” Arlis voice said in almost a whisper to her
“Yes” she said as she calmed herself down
“Antel” She looked at him “You are not your mother” she returned a smile back at Arli as he spoke softly and reassuringly to her.
His next words were spoken with such sincerity and concern that she would remember them now in her darkest days “Your Antel, your own person”
He leaned across and kissed her

As she rode with the Sorrow guard on this the start of a new chapter for them, she could still taste him upon her lips and smiled.

Prepared, a word she had often used and thought she truly knew the meaning of, she had been told by one of her guard and by her mother that Arli had returned and she had agreed to meet with him.
She had thought herself prepared to meet him, to see that he meant nothing to him and that their time with one another was nothing more than abit of fun which had now ended.
“My Lady are you prepared?” His voice was dry and rough, it sounded as if his throat had been scraped along the gravel bed of a stream.
“Ofcourse, I am” Antel replied softly as she pulled her hood over her head, to hide her face from the Forsaken member of her sorrow guard “Reaper”
“My lady?” his voice hinted at submission yet his body language said quite the opposite as he stood upright and nearly completely still
“When he gets here, look out for any Thorns with him” Her voice hissed slightly as she noticed movement by the chapel
“Ofcourse” the Reaper replied solemnly as he also looked in the direction of the chapel

Arli slowly approached her, with each step closer she felt her legs tremble, and her lips quiver. Where was her strength now? It had left her, it had left her to be nothing more than a weak foolish girl, who wanted nothing more than to leap into his arms.
He stopped afew feet from her and looked a little nervously at the Reaper, his eyes then turned back to Antel and smiled at her.
A single word passed his lips, a word that in the past would have melted her heart and drawn a smile across her face.
“Hey”
She wanted more than anything to have pretended the past few months were nothing but a painful nightmare, to be told everything was alright and that there was some terrible misunderstanding.
But she knew better than that.

Arli had tried to tell Antel that he was only having a break and that he had planned all along to return to her, but this she knew full well was a lie.
Antel threw the folded, dog eared letter to the floor and repeated word for word what had been written on the letter, the same letter that Arli had left her to read after he had vanished, the words of which were now etched into her mind
“You won’t hear from me again. I’m leaving all links to the Thorns, the Dawnrunners and to Silvermoon behind me and starting anew some place far from Quel’Thalas and the forsaken lands”.
Anger and pain exposed themselves in her voice as she spoke the words to Arli.

He then quickly changed tactics and wanted to speak to her alone, her better judgement said no to this request yet apart of her wanted to hear his reasoning and begged for him to give her a good reason to take him back.

Antel had left the Reaper at the entrance to the tomb as Arli and her entered, walking down deeper into the tomb she tried to remain focused and clear headed but a million thoughts struggled to present themselves to her. As they arrived at the lower portion of the tomb she turned and faced Arli.
“So what do you want?” Antel asked, trying to present herself as strong as she possibly could
“I want you back” he replied as he tried to make eye contact with her.
Antel turned to compose herself and was met by his hand on her arm. A touch she had missed, a touch she had feared would never happen again.
She could turn now and into his embrace so easily, he was so close to her now. Was she willing to give in so badly?
“Don’t touch me” she pulled away from Arli’s hand, in response Arli was quick to move his hand and step back.
If she was to take Arli back, would it just be a matter of time before she was left heartbroken again?
Did he only want to be with her to try and climb back up the ranks of the Thorns?
Did he really think it was going to be this easy?
Was she this easy?
The pain was so strong and cut so deep, the past few months had been hell for her and only recently she had slowly but gradually moved on from him. Yet now he was with her and he had brought all of that pain back with him.
“Arli if you love me...” she paused for a moment and tried to do make eye contact with him as she finished her sentence “You will go now” she glanced at his eyes and could see his heart sink.
“Just give me another chance, we were good together” his voice was soft and words clear
“Arli go now...please” her reply was just a whisper, one that would have been lost on the softest of breezes.
She waited for a moment then looked up to see he had left her, alone.

A tear rolled down her face as she tried to hold back the word that tried to escape her lips
“Wait” she wanted him to wait, just alittle longer, maybe that’s all it would take for the past to be forgotten and for her to forgive him. Yet it was too late and she had sent him away.

Both swords lay broken and shattered, the shards lay as small sparkling stars across the dark stone floor.
Her hands formed fists as she sat upon her throne, blood trickled from between her fingers, the pain that throbbed from them was only a slight sensation to the anger and hate that ran through her veins, the sense of betrayal that burnt under her skin.

“My lady” A voice came from the entrance to her chamber “The new Reaper and I are awaiting your command”
“Enter” Her voice echoed her emotions and the each letter demanded attention.
A Forsaken figure entered the chamber, he was clad in the Dark plate armour of the Deathknights, the light from one of the high windows of the chamber ran across his battered spaulders while the rest of him remained hidden in the shadows.
As he got within ten feet of her throne he dropped to a knee, the slam of the plate armour against the stone, rang across the chamber
“I am yours to command” although the words hinted as some sort of submission his voice showed none.

“Reaper, I want for you to take our new sister and visit this Dianthaa and show her that the Sorrow Guard will not be crossed” Antel wanted to say more and order the Reaper to kill Dianthaa and anyone else he found, Yet the Mistress, her mother had always said that to give into emotions was to welcome your own destruction.

Although Antel couldn’t see the Reapers face or his eyes she knew what he was thinking and she knew he was right. His face would say “Is this a personal mission?” “Should we leave our path on such a waste of time?”
“Don’t you dare question me, Reaper!” the sudden abrupt outburst from Antel, placed the kneeling Reaper on edge.

“I wouldn’t dare, My lady” His head lowered slightly, in respect more than anything else
“Good, now go and visit our friend, Dianthaa” she hissed the final word as she thought of Dianthaa with Arli, her lips touching his, her hands entwined with his, her fingers running across his body.

Antels vision was blurring in anger, trying to control herself as she watched the blurred image of the Reaper leaving the chamber
“Why!” She cried out as she rose from her throne and launched her bloody fists in an attack on the walls of the chamber.
After awhile she dropped to her knees, tears streamed from her eyes and blood stains covered the wall
“Why Arli, why” she whispered as she cried, her hands still beating against the bloody stone in frustration more than anything else.
She was alone in her chamber, with only her anger and her

Sorrow.
